No. 1. Why is Europe rearming?

Europe is not only rearming because of a potential war. Europe is doing it because we need a new success industry to survive.

In the last 20 years, Europe has lost more industrial ground than in any previous decade:
– 40% of its semiconductor production;
– 80–90% of its consumer electronics manufacturing;
– almost its entire mobile device industry;
– and now its automotive leadership is under pressure.

So Europe is now turning to one of the last industries where it can still win globally: Defence & Aerospace.

Not simply as a reaction to the latest global political and military events but as a long-term industrial strategy.

Over the coming weeks we are going to share a series of short insights on:
– why defence may become Europe’s next breakthrough industry;
– why supply chain is the #1 bottleneck;
– what OEMs fear heading into 2030;
– what SMEs must understand before entering the defence market;
and where Europe’s industrial autonomy will actually be decided.
